Microsoft Outlook App Awareness Campaign

The Issue
Microsoft Outlook needed to increase awareness and drive downloads for its Outlook mobile app. The challenge was to make the app feel useful, immediate, and culturally relevant in a crowded digital environment.

Idea
Make the value of Outlook mobile feel recognizable through everyday work moments. The campaign used short, shareable digital content to connect Outlook’s benefits to familiar workplace frustrations: missed emails, inbox overload, wrong recipients, and the need to manage email from anywhere. Instead of explaining the app only as a productivity tool, the campaign made the need for it feel immediate, practical, and easy to understand.

My Role
I helped develop campaign messaging and creative executions for a multi-channel digital campaign designed to build awareness and move users toward download. My work included concept development, copywriting, digital campaign messaging, shareable social content, and landing page copy support.

Results
Within five days of launch, the Outlook App was among the top 25 most downloaded apps in the United States and Canada. The campaign helped support awareness and download momentum through coordinated digital, social, and landing page creative.

Shareable social content used meme-style formats and office humor to make a productivity app launch feel more culturally fluent.

Common mobile-work frustrations were used to frame Outlook as a smarter way to manage email and calendar demands.

We used workplace tension to make the need for Outlook immediate and recognizable.

The campaign turned common email frustrations into opportunities for Outlook to shine.

Videos focused on a product-use case, connecting Outlook’s value to office behavior.

The landing page encouraged download action through visuals, messaging, and app-store pathways.
